The Big Idea: develop a symmetrical shape design using Photoshop. Objectives: The students will be able to… Learn and understand the elements and principles of design for graphic design applications. Use Adobe Photoshop to create a symmetrical shape design. Learn and understand access to laptops, use of laptops, file management and storage. Element of Shape: Symmetrical Balance. Materials: Visual Art Laptop Cart w/ Adobe Photoshop CS3 Suite, Wacom tablets, flash drives (all numbered and assigned 1 per student), teacher laptop w/ digital projector & screen, 3-ring binders (for student sketches, notes, etc.). Teacher copy of ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3: Classroom in a Book and various curricular resources, including Adobe Education Exchange. Textbook: Graphic Design Solutions, 4th ed., drawing paper, drawing tools, PowerPoint, worksheet.
