Get To Know You Logo
This purpose of this activity is to:Give students an opportunity to connect with another classmateIntroduce students to the process of interviewing someone with the intent of making a logo for themPush students to drawHave a little fun in classSummary:Students pair up.They take turns interviewing each other. Then they sketch a logo for their partner based on what they learned about them during the interview process. After they sketch their logos, they share them with their partners (and possibly the rest of the class). Then everyone debriefs the process. The whole activity can be completed in 30 minutes or you can scale it up to meet the needs of your students.Materials needed:Printed copies of the handout for each student. The slide deck to guide the process. (optional)A drawing utensil...pencil, pen, marker, crayon, etc. A timer.I have used this activity in the past with students who have no experience creating logos as well as with students who have a lot of design experience. It can be used as an icebreaker activity at the beginning of the school year/new semester or as a standalone project during the school year. There are facilitator/teacher notes in the Notes section of the slide deck. The notes are there to provide some guidance for teachers and offer ideas of how to scale up certain sections of the activity.
