The sunny, optimistic attitude of the Charles and Ray Eames living room transported from their house to the museum galleries was a huge contrast to what was currently happening in the housing market.

This has always been an issue. Our schools Copyright License allows pretty well free reign for instructional/educational purposes, but the problem comes when you want to share a work beyond the classroom, like on a website, a publicly available newsletter even a school exhibition. This article is a great resource and students can be encouraged to get into the practice of using these images rather than just grabbing anything.

Two InDesign Projects Project by Mark Finlayson Jun 27, 2014 Products Photoshop InDesign 3.5k 2

For a current Photography unit called Retro Revisited I have decided two tasks, on practical, one theory which utilise InDesign. This should be read in conjunction with my Getting Started With InDesign activity. For the practical task the students submit their images as a booklet made in InDesign. They use 8 A4 pages. To work properly with our printing system I get them to submit their work as a PDF, which I then print and return as an 8 page stapled booklet (uses two A3 pages printed both sides and folded). This way they get hard copy and I get a digital copy for archives. I have provided the task outline that the students receive. For the theory task they produce a three fold brochure for an exhibition by a photographer of their choice who works with toy/plastic/lomo cameras. They also produce a poster for the exhibition. Again I have included the task outline, as well as a template for a threefold brochure for InDesign designed to accommodate the fact that our printers all have a 5mm non printing area all around the page.
