Adobe Apps for Education Discussion by Donna Dolan Jun 6, 2014 2.5k 2

I'm looking for ideas to share. I know about the free Adobe Apps for IPad and Tablets, such as Adobe Ideas, PS Express and Reveal. Do you have any other suggestions for Free Apps to use with students? How have you used them in your class? Regarding paid for Apps: in a classroom situation, is it really worth buying the App for a classroom set of tablets? While I get the usage part of that app, how do I justify the cost to other teachers who don't want to pay for them? Any input would be appreciated.

Adobe Apps in the Classroom Discussion by Mark DuBois May 9, 2014 Products Photoshop Touch Revel 3.6k 4

I am thinking about having students use more tablet based apps to develop supporting materials for assignments. I am curious how others are using various Adobe iPad apps in their classrooms. Examples would include Adobe Voice, Photoshop Touch, Lightroom Mobile, Adobe Revel, and Adobe Ideas. Do you have specific assignments or do you see students using some of these apps in a more organic manner to complete assignments? If not yet, do you have specific plans for the next semester? It would be great to know how others are using these apps for education. Best always,Mark

The Adobe iPad Apps class is a showcase of the different Adobe Apps that are available. Due to recent changes in the Adobe App choices (Adobe Ideas dropped from the Creative Cloud). The Class includes what apps are available in the app store - rather than a focus on one of the apps. The workshop does not aim to teach the participants how to use the apps, the objective is to showcase the apps. And for the participants to have a better expectation of what each app function is (video, audio, presentation, drawing, planning etc.) Most people are slow to adapt using the iPad in any meaningful way. Most people want to know how they can improve their workflow - not make it more difficult by using inferior versions of apps they have on their desktop. This workshop objective is to help user know when they can use iPad apps to reach different goals. Visit the Class Resource page for sample of work created with Adobe iPad Apps that you can use in your class. The class feedback form is also included. Does anyone out there have strategies or prior lessons/plans/exercises/activities designed to educate and involve low-performing students in using the Adobe Creative Suite? We're at CS6 for AI/ID/PS, but I've been informed that my CTE rosters will be leveled to include some of these students. This will be my first time working with high school students at this level, so while I have textbook education on this situation I'm woefully underprepared for when the kids' rubber meets my curriculum's road.
