Create a Font from Scratch in Illustrator Web Link by Franz Hoffman Mar 29, 2017 Products Illustrator 0 0

A simple tutorial to create an OpenType font based any handwritten or digitally created alphabet, using the font creation add-on Fontself Maker. It's a great solution to propose a hands-on approach of type-making to your students (they can make their very first font in less than an hour). And DIY custom fonts can also bring a unique touch to a yearbook, or any other graphic design project ;)

Mythical Critter Photoshop Composite Project by marcia blanco Mar 28, 2017 Products Adobe Stock Photoshop 0 0

This is one of my favorite projects. Students use their newly honed PS skills at selecting, masking and blending to create their own mythical critter out of 2-3 high res images of animals (humans work as well.) Part I: Creating the critter: Students combine images of several different animals using non-destructive selecting and masking techniques to create their own unique mythical critter. Part II: Students create a habitat for their critter using several landscape images and providing any extra way-out celestial effects that they wish. They need to keep in mind their critter's adaptations (a really fuzzy, winged mammal that breathes fire probably would not thrive in an undersea environment. There has to be some logic to this.) Part III: Students write an essay, David Attenborough like, to describe their critter's adaptations and behavior: mating habits, what they eat, how they bear their young, etc. They need to create a Latin name as well as a common name for their critter.

document on the making of Cosmic Abuse : Part 1. Project by jason washburn Mar 24, 2017 Products Story Portfolio 0 0

This is a compilation of behind the scenes shots from the making of Cosmic Abuse part 1. The beginning was shot on Mt. Quandary Colorado making our way to the top and on the top. Other parts of this documentary are the discussion with the cast about the script. Out takes of certain scenes. Me giving a commentary while constructing the set at various stages of development. The model building or me giving directions to the cast while shooting. This is all very raw footage not very seamless but you get the feel of how it was made . Ending with comment on Israeli and Palestinian scene. Enjoy Jason S. Washburn
