Nine revealing pieces compiled in a poster grid where the student/designer visually reveals what they want another to know about them. A great project for an entire grading period. Each piece can be for a grade and then one for the whole. Students can present their projects to whole class which allows for them to get to know each other better. Requires research into things like professions or heritage. Uses photography and photo manipulation. Great end of school project when skills are developed and attention spans are short - focusing on themselves is priceless!

The Adobe iPad Apps class is a showcase of the different Adobe Apps that are available. Due to recent changes in the Adobe App choices (Adobe Ideas dropped from the Creative Cloud). The Class includes what apps are available in the app store - rather than a focus on one of the apps. The workshop does not aim to teach the participants how to use the apps, the objective is to showcase the apps. And for the participants to have a better expectation of what each app function is (video, audio, presentation, drawing, planning etc.) Most people are slow to adapt using the iPad in any meaningful way. Most people want to know how they can improve their workflow - not make it more difficult by using inferior versions of apps they have on their desktop. This workshop objective is to help user know when they can use iPad apps to reach different goals. Visit the Class Resource page for sample of work created with Adobe iPad Apps that you can use in your class. The class feedback form is also included. Hi all, If anyone is using Adobe programs in Years 7, 8 or 9 with the new National Curriculum, would you mind sharing your ideas? As far as I can see, we need to have a focus on programming. I'd like to see what everyone is doing. I'm going to miss using Photoshop and the like in the Junior Secondary years. Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately I graduated from a university that failed to focus on the arts and there were no typography classes. Not knowing enough typography can be quiet an issue as I homeschool high school students and I find it hard to teach it to them as well. Question: Where can I learn typography besides at another university? What are some resources you use to better your typographic skills and have an eye for good typography? What exercises would you recommend I (and my students) do to learn more about typography? Thanks a billion!

Create a Website with Muse and Dropbox Curriculum by Judy Durkin Jul 13, 2014 Products Muse Photoshop Color

This is an interactive sheet of directions for students to create a website in Muse and use a Dropbox Public folder as the server. It is a great work-around for students who cannot afford website hosting, and it is a great introduction to Muse. There are no directions on how to use Muse. I teach InDesign before I teach Muse. Muse is very similar to InDesign, so the transition is not too difficult. I demonstrate Muse and then direct my students to seek out videos on tv.adobe.com. The sheet contains assignment requirements, suggestions for content, and how to publish using Dropbox. Also included is a rubric for the project. Finally, a quick, free solution for students to publish websites. In the past, their websites were never "live"- now that will change, and I am certain that their enthusiasm will change, too. I am collaborating with core subject teachers to have my students do one of the research projects as a website instead of a typed paper!

Creating an Interactive DVD Menu Project by Tony Bolder Mar 14, 2014 Products Adobe Premiere Pro Photoshop Encore

I've always felt that creating assignments for students requires a lot of thought in how the assignment is designed. Students need to become fully engaged with the assignment brief right from the first read. Hence, I now create fully interactive assignment briefs that allow students to continuously engage and update whenever they can. This I think keeps their interest up in the document, and hopefully promotes creativity. This assignment is based on the planning and creation of pre-production documents for an interactive DVD menu. The students have already completed an assignment on the theoretical aspects of digital interactive design. The final assignment will be the actual production of their designed interactive DVD menu.
