This is a short presentation I did for my print publishing students who insist on using Photoshop for every graphical problem. It examines what (in my view) is the correct application for a given task. It starts with a large group of CC icons and then focusses on ID, AI and PSD. Some of the categorisation may appear simplistic to some, and I would agree. But I'm just trying to get them to appreciate other applications. At the end I give my strategy - short sharp demos and projects so they can put stuff into practice. For the curious, the font is Subway Novella and most of the images are from Ads that first appeared in the 1930s and 40s. As far as I can find out the images should be either covered by public domain or fair use. If that's not the case please let me know.
