Intro to High School Multimedia

Curriculum Published 8/15/19 Last updated on 8/21/19

I am a retired art, animation, graphics teacher. I designed a website for a beginning multi-media/graphics class that Is no longer being used. If anyone is interested in any of my lessons or looking for a resource to help you start an intro to graphics class, you are welcome to steal anything you wish. Its been sitting unused for 3 years since I retired but It might have some lessons to help you start or a place to build upon. Please let me know if the site helps yo in any way. Feel free to "Screen Capture" anything you want ! My email is on the intro may contact me if you have any questions.

the site I built is:

  • Photoshop

Editing and compositing for photos, web and mobile app designs, 3D artwork, videos, and more.

  • Illustrator

Create beautiful vector art and illustrations.

Age Levels
Communication and Collaboration, Technology Operations and Concepts, Critical Thinking Problem Solving and Decision Making

You will need an Adobe Classroom License for Illustrator, Photoshop, Garage Band ( Optional), Adobe Animate. This website is planned to fill a one year curriculum for beginning graphics. You will need to supplement the lessons by teaching some intro concepts in Adobe Illustrator , Photoshop, Animate, and maybe In-Design. This was my only year teaching graphics while also teaching animation and art one. I actually use this site to teach art one digitally explaining to the students that they have a lower frustration level than traditional pencil, paint and paper art courses especially if they make a mistake. Much easier to hit the "command z" button than to start over on a new piece of paper! This is a primer which is meant to be built upon. I think I can share the website...just need to see how to do it if you want to add lessons to the site. Let me know if and how it works!

Hey there! Thanks so much for all this information! The website link takes me to a 404 error.

I would really appreciate any lesson materials you have to share. It's my 2nd year teaching design and digital media so I'm always looking for more resources.
