Creating a Facebook Cover using Adobe Spark

OVERALL AIM

Participants will be creating a backdrop profile cover for their Facebook page using Adobe SPARK

SPECIFIC LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the professional development session, participants will be able to:

  • Create and edit a Spark account --Update their Spark profile
  • Personalize a Facebook background
  • Add and edit text and photos in a Spark template
  • Save projects to Spark
  • Share/Download Spark project files as a .jpg
  • Upload their created background to Facebook and other social media depending on Spark templates

  • MAIN LEARNING INSTRUCTION 25 MINUTES

    Learners may create a Facebook account prior to the session. Learners will create an Adobe Spark account as

    part of the session if they do not currently have one.

  • Open browser and go to: https://spark.adobe.com/sp/login
  • Create an account by using Facebook, Google or Email to create an account.
  • Name, Email, Country, Birthdates are required and agreement to Spark terms.
  • If you have an Adobe ID, you can sign in that way as well.
  • To start a new project:
  • Click on the yellow plus in the right corner
  • Click the green plus under “Post”
  • Pick your template- Making sure it is in a Facebook Cover format for this exercise.
  • Once your template is loaded, click on the text item in the template, click edit

    BACKGROUND WITH

  • Edit your text, click done
  • On the Right side of the page, you can change the Shape, Color, Font, Spacing, Alignment, and Opacity of your text. There is a circular option to try out some they suggest.

    Select the photo

  • Click replace
  • Choose upload photo from the right navigation panel.
  • Choose something from your own computer.
  • Use a filter provide if you want
  • Make any adjustments to the photo or the text using the options s in the header. Select the item and replace or adjust.

    Click Share in the upper header

  • The option to share or be noticed on Spark is available, however, for the purposes of this tutorial, we will be downloading the file to your computer for future use on Facebook and not publishing on Spark beyond our own projects page.
  • Click “Download” under the picture or your creation.
  • Open Facebook
  • Login as needed
  • In the header, click on your name and photo to open your profile
  • Click on Update Cover Photo when hovering in the cover photo. It is in the upper left corner.
  • Click Upload a photo
  • Find the Spark file, likely in your download folder on your computer unless you save items elsewhere by default.
  • It will be called Adobe Spark possibly with a numerical value.
  • Double click on the file
  • Reposition by dragging the photo into the Facebook cover space
  • Click Save changes once you’re are satisfied with placement
  • You can rename your Adobe Spark file on your computer if you want a better
  • reference for future use of the file.
