The 5-minute WriteUp for Captivate

Digital Asset Published 7/19/17 Last updated on 2/28/20

Take a 5-minute pulse check and see how your students are doing.

The 5-Minute WriteUp provides a quick and simple way to collect written feedback on student learning. It can be used in class (if you have access to devices) or as an assignment after class.

Students are given a short answer question and then have five minutes to type a response. This activity gives them an opportunity to mentally review what they have learned and express it in their own words. You may choose to give feedback later. The 5-minute time limit will start when they click the ‘Begin’ button. After they have responded to the question, they select the ‘Submit’ button. If they reach the 5-minute time limit and have not submitted, their response will be automatically submitted.

All of the submissions are then automatically sent to your gradebook in your LMS. You can also run SCORM reports to see all student answers. Note that there is a 250 character limit in Moodle only.
