The Get to know you project for Digital Video

Project Published 8/27/18 Last updated on 8/27/18

Our Digital Video program requires that our students can work collaboratively as a team. One of the ways that we build a cohesive classroom is by throwing them to the grind from day one.

Students are required to meet 4 to 5 other students and ask all of their personal information.

Once they have answered all of the questions they are to make a 2-3 minute video using minimal instruction from the teacher. They have to figure out on their own how to film, edit and produce video. There are some requirements:

  • Must use their phons
  • Must have all members of the group in the video
  • Must use multiple cuts and angles
  • May not use a simple interview, the videos must creatively allow the rest of the class to get to know them.

This is a fun project and forces students to bust out of their shell bit by bit. It also empowers them to solve the big question of film with minimal resources.
