Language Arts: Character Analysis

Lesson Plan Published 10/19/17 Last updated on 5/11/19

After reading a novel, students create a whimsical photo collage representing a character analysis. Students select photos that represent their character and use Adobe Photoshop to depict the character’s traits inside a silhouette. The collage includes a quotation that demonstrates the essence of the character. While this is a step-by-step guided project, students apply creativity skills through their selection and identification of visual representations of the characters, which visual elements of images they choose, as well as the size and placement of the images.
