Using Twitter to support Group Learning (SPARK RESOURCE)

Digital Asset Published 2/28/18 Last updated on 5/16/18

Twitter can be a great tool to support group learning and discussion.

This Adobe Spark is a resource you can use to support your students (or yourself!) in the use of Twitter for a group learning situation.

The resource guides you through setting up, Twitter basics and then moves on to using #hashtags to follow group tweets.

Written in plain, non-geeky, language, share this Spark with your students and engage the power of social media!

Access the Spark Resource Here:

Adobe Spark is an easy-to-use tool that helps you turn your ideas into compelling social graphics, web stories, and animated videos

Age Levels

This is a stand-alone resource which students can access with a web link.

Why not add the link to your Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle et al) with an activity to get your students engaging?

You will need to decide on a #hashtag to support your group.

Hashtag Tips

Pick something short and snappy. Tweets have length limits so you do not want to waste precious characters with your #hashtag!

Search for your #hashtag before you start using. You may find someone else is already using it which, at best, can cause confusion and, at worst, link to materials you might not want your students to see! Adding a digit (date, class, course code) is an easy way to create something unique!

This is interesting. I never thought of Twitter as a tool for group learning. I will try it with my students!
