DPS Overview, resources to the presentation

Digital Asset Published 5/10/15 Last updated on 7/13/18

These resources were created for the presentation:

CREATE DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS FOR MOBILE DEVICES WITH INDESIGN (6 May 2014)

Video Presentation

Even though the DPS single edition is no longer available it is possible to create and upload a DPS folio to an iPad or iPhone and then interact with it using the Adobe DPS Viewer app. In the video it is explained the difference between a DPS that is tree structured (like a webpage) and the linear story of a Fixed Layout ePub.

If the Articles are created and an InDesign book is used this makes it easy to structure the information so that it can be exported either as a DPS or as an EPUB (via the book flight menu).

The assets are made available so that you may adapt and improve the presentation. The photographs are my own and you may use in educational setting. The video was student work, due to file size limit I did not include it so relink to any video (Adobe Premiere Clip is a perfect match for those that are new to video and want to make their own). The running man I have adapted from a file I found marked as CC from wikimedia, source seemed ambiguous so I distorted it with some Illustrator plug-ins from Astutegraphics.

Note that this was before CC2015, In today terminology this is what is known as "DPS Classic". The single edition is no longer available, but has been replaced by "DPS" (Digital Publishing System) that in turn will migrate to AEM and be an enterprise product.
