Placing an image of a person or thing, into another photo of a famous place.

Technical Tutorial Published 8/18/13 Last updated on 2/28/20

This activity uses Adobe Photoshop CS5 and involves the students having their photo taken to use in this task. The students will remove the background of the photo and place their own photo in a photo of a famous landmark or other famous image. Students will use a variety of tools to complete this task, such as - Magic wand, Magic eraser, History Palette, Move tool, having two images open at the one time, scaling an image and Flattening an image to save it as a single layer jpg.

Students would already have some basic skills with Photoshop to complete this task, though they may follow the instructions without too much previous skill. This will also work with Photoshop CS4.
