Using basic Photoshop in Stage 4 Science (NSW) - Part 2

Assessment Published 8/17/13 Last updated on 5/16/18

Part 2: Another way of including Phortoshop skills in assessing Science is using the tools of cropping, straightening, layers and masks to produce a stimulus item for assessing particular Science knowledge.

In this example, a colour microscope image of stained onion skin cells has been converted to black and white, and then one cell has been 'unmasked' so that a teacher has every student focussing on that one particular cell and being asked about that cell e.g. to label the components of that cell.

This strategy could be applied to any stimulus material to facilitate assessing from both a student's and teacher's perspective.
