End of Year Video

Project Published 4/1/16 Last updated on 6/4/19

This is an easy Term 4 project that the students will enjoy.

Last year the school asked us to produce a series of interviews with Year 7s reflecting on their first year of high school. We turned this into a Term 4 project for Year 8s, where they planned, filmed and edited a news show reviewing the highlights of the year. The students had full control of the project and thoroughly enjoyed making, what turned out to be, a hilarious comedy.

Not only did the kids have a ball working on this, but they learnt a lot of new skills: collaboration, teamwork, deadlines, script writing and responsibility. Each student performed a role in the production that suited their personality and interests. The students used Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop to create this video

This s something that I would gladly do again. It isn't difficult, the kids have a lot of fun and the school was able to use the video as a promotional tool for prospective students.
