I have a BIG problem while taking ACA Illustrator 2018.

After uninstalling my current Illustrator 2019 and Installing the oldest available one (v22.1) which is 2018 the compass app still won't go the the 2nd part of the exam.

The error message is: "Setting up the exam environment failed. Please make sure Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 has been installed and launched at least once before starting the test."

I have installed v 22.1 (uninstalled CC19) and launched it.

Rhitt Growl

Posted on 8/30/19 8:25:29 PM Permalink

This happened to a few of my students too. To fix it, we launched the 22.1 version, let the program fully open, closed it, and then restarted the exam. This worked for us and solved that particular error. Give it a try and let us know if it fixes the problem for you.

Konrad Zając

Posted on 8/31/19 1:43:53 PM Permalink

Yeah I did that, but thanls for the suggestion.

Hello Rhitt and Konrad,

We apologize for the complication you've experienced. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Since you have already installed the correct version and are launching/closing the app prior to the exam, please reach out directly to the Certiport technical support team so you can walk through the issue together and receive their assistance. You may need to adjust your Preferences settings. Please feel free to share your experience or insight they provide, and let us know when this has been resolved.

Dear Adobe Education,

Are you all going to have the updated tests from now on because of the constant updates that Adobe has? CC 2020 is already out - when my lab updates the software next year to 2020, will the tests be ready an so on?

(We are currently at CC 2019 and will have to test using CC 2015 tests until the 2019 tests come out - not cool!!)

The time, effort and cost can be justified only when the certification is valid for at least five years. There is chance that more designers would opt to get themselves certified if apt training material is available timely with more emphasis laid on design skills rather than tool proficiency. There should also be statistics released on employ-ability of certified professionals. Only then will more professionals would invest in money and time for certifications. Especially for the professionals living in developing part of the world, the chances of opting for certifications are remote provided the cost and span of validity.

I also find that GMETRIX does not prepare my students. After going through it a couple of times they are passing with 100% - then not passing the exams. Not cool.

As a student, the gmetrix preparation guide was a complete waste of time. I studied and studied and only got 585 out of 700. Maybe better luck next time?

Downside is that you have to have a account to watch the rest of the videos. Thankfully we do.

Is there a one stop solution - a preparation guide for ACA Graphic design and Illustration (Illustrator). I found it tough to go link after link to get the information only to get lost in the ocean of information. Please help. How long is this certification valid?

Rhitt Growl

The ACA certification is good for three years. I can't help with the preparation guide. Like you, I've been swimming in the ocean of info and haven't found a one stop solution.

Hi Adobe,

Same question with Adobe Photoshop CC; Is this study guide ready to go and WILL it prepare my high school students for the most current exam (Adobe Certified Associate Exam Voucher)? Thanks.

Adobe Education

Posted on 1/28/16 1:36:59 AM Permalink

It's not a comprehensive practice exam and it doesn't include complete preparation materials. This is meant to go along with the Adobe Visual Design curriculum and aid in preparation for the exam. But mostly it's helpful to understand what the exam is like and what to expect.

This is just an exam preparation guide. If you want to sign up for an exam and get a code you will need to here to find a testing center near you.

You MUST score 700 out of 1000.
