Magazine Cover using InDesign

Technical Tutorial Published 10/17/14 Last updated on 5/16/18

This is a tutorial I developed for my year 11 class last year. It gives them the opportunity to apply some of the great layout options available in InDesign to create a Magazine cover.

The theme for this magazine is Xtream Sports as my students were mainly teenage boys from 16-17 years old. The theme could easily be modified to suit whatever interests your clients have. Just change the assets or get them to source their own.

I have uploaded the step-by-step tutorial as well as the assets folder and working document, all zipped.

  • Photoshop

Editing and compositing for photos, web and mobile app designs, 3D artwork, videos, and more.

  • InDesign

Craft elegant layouts at your desk or on the go.
