I finally found a tutorial video that explained there is a glitch in Animate CC. You cannot test your actionscript with 'test'. You must actually export as .swf and then it will work. I spent hours on this (very frustrating), but glad I finally got it!

I've loved doing this project with my students- they've come up with very creative ideas.

However, now that we are using Flash animate I'm finding that the code for making the character jump is not working- has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas as to why? It still works great if I open it in the older Flash.

I'm wondering if animate needs to import a module that allows the script to work? Or is the even called something different in Animate?

We have upgraded to Animate CC and I cannot get any of my EventListeners to work. (Admittedly, I am new to Actionscript, but I copy code word for word and it doesn't work.)

Yes- this is exactly what has happened with me. If I open the files in the old (and still available) Flash the evenListeners work fine. Open the same file in Animate CC, with no changes, and no luck (in particular with the code for making the character jump. No one has been able to help me with this :(

This was an awesome assignment to do with my high school and college students. I would love to know the code / steps to create a REPLAY button.
