"Zombify Yourself in Ten Easy Steps"

Lesson Plan Published 10/30/15 Last updated on 12/3/18

UPDATED: I have made a few clarifications and revisions from my previous tutorial.

This is probably one of my students' favorite lessons. It is a great way for them to demonstrate beginner skills. I find that they really get into it if I demonstrate using my own photo.

Prior skills/tool suggested: Dodge, Burn, Sponge, Brush
If you have not covered these tools yet, this is a great way to demonstrate what they can do. I recommend teaching students how to download custom brushes prior to the lesson. This will save you a lot of time during the lesson.

You will need to download custom brushes for this lesson. I have included some links for brushes.

Please let me know if you use this lesson in your class. I always love to see how other teachers use this in their classes. I love seeing other students' work.

That's tremendous. Such a fun thing for students!

Something to think about, is setting the layer of the blood to Overlay (or one of the other settings) to make the blood look even closer to the skin.

Fantastic tutorial!

Where do we get the custom brushes?

I found them on the Internet. Some of my favorite brush sites are Brusheezy, Creative Blog, and Brush Lovers. There are thousands of sites that have free brushes. You can also create your own brushes. Please let me know if you have any more questions. I would love feedback on how it goes.

I'm new to Adobe Education Exchange so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. Where are the 10 steps to zombify yourself located? Other lessons I've looked at had instructions to download.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. That attachment should be there now. I am not sure what happened. Welcome to the AEE. I have found a ton of great resources on here. I hope you do the same.
