Create a Poetry App for the iPad 1

Lesson Plan Published 12/15/14 Last updated on 2/28/20

This lesson is proposed as the first of three sessions during which participants will create a magazine-style poetry app for the iPad. This (first) session deals with creating an animated title/intro page in Photoshop (think of it as an animated front cover for a magazine).

The completed 5 second video that will be created in direct and guided practice may be viewed here.

Here is a link to the resources created for this plan.

'title_intro.mp4' – MP4 of final video, so participants can see what they are working towards.

'title_intro.psd' – so participants can cycle through the layers during direct instruction, to see the effect of each step.

'daylight.jpg' and 'ambient.m4a' – so participants can recreate the video in Photoshop, during guided practice.

'session1_notes.pdf' – e-copy of notes to be emailed to participants (with clickable links to further resources).

'session1_notesPRINT.pdf' – hard-copy hand-outs for class, for use during guided and independent practice.
