Description

One of the game boards

A simple game I made up for my 2 year old, that I thought I would share.

Attached is a Photoshop PSD file. The PSD has layer comps which amount to six boards, consisting of letters and numbers.

Print the boards out twice.
One set, paste on cardboard or thick card and laminate. Those are your game boards.
One set, cut out each square with letters and numbers on them, paste them on cardboard or thick card, laminate and then cut them out again. Those are your game cards.

Easy as pie. Each player chooses one game board. Shuffle the cards. One at a time, with your toddler, choose a card from a stack of face down cards. Get your toddler to check if either of you have the chosen letter/number on your boards. Place if you do, discard if you don't. Get your toddler to say what the letter and number is before putting it down.

That's it!

Note: This file uses the font Essay Text Regular found in TypeKit. If you don't have that font, feel free to substitute.

Hi Joel,

This seems like a fun game, however you mention a file but there is no downloadble file here. Is there one you meant to add?

Cheers,

I don't seem to be able to upload the file! No error message, just doesn't seem to be there.

Is there a browser that has proven to work better with AEE? I have had numerous problems using Firefox!

Hi Joel

Our apologies as just seeing this. I've been able to upload without problem across browsers. Have you tried Chrome?

Cheers,

This seems like a good idea. How has it worked so far?

She loves it, Anita, thanks! She loves all games, especially ones made by Daddy and especially ones that teach her to read.
