Photoshop for Kids (of all ages): Animation Made Simple

Technical Tutorial Published 11/25/10 Last updated on 5/16/18
Here's a tutorial that teaches basic animation concepts right inside of Photoshop CS5 Extended. You can animate each layer's position and opacity, as well as animate 3D objects. (Try using text, drawings made in Photoshop, pictures, video clips) Although a much less sophisticated system of animating, it's a great way to get started with animation, before attempting Flash, After Effects, etc. It's fun and easy. If you find this tutorial helpful, and use it, please send me a link to your samples. Thanks!

I can see this also as part of a collaborative project. Children can create a library of digital artwork with backgrounds and graphics/props.(saved as .pngs or .gifs) to be shared among all. Then students can use the assets to create their Photoshop animations and build a storyline. Others could be in charge of sound effects, writing, story boarding or voice overs. This idea would also work well with Flash or video projects.

Another amazing resource! I love the way you expand how the Adobe tools are used.
