Student Showcase plan

Web Link Published 7/29/15 Last updated on 2/27/19

I wanted to share a basic look at our Student Showcase that we hold each year. We call it the Media MashUP and it is pretty simple to put together. I have my graphic arts students create posters and programs to promote the event. I use Google Docs to keep create an entry form. Students submit their work as a link on Youtube - so I don't have to deal with any files until I am getting ready for the award show night. I have my Animation students create show opens and animation interstitials for the award show (ie: AND THE WINNER IS!)

We rent a red carpet, have T-shirts made(graphic design students work) and have our photography students do red carpet photos. I hold the event in our auditorium in Spring on the last Friday night of classes. I have 2 senior student act as hosts. It's a great way to end the year.

Here is the link for my entry form:

Awesome! I run something very similar to this as well for my senior high school students. I particularly like the idea of having a google form for entry details. A showcase is a great way to keep the students motivated and to celebrate the efforts they have put in over the year. Will be posting up our plan soon.
