Word Art Portrait

Digital Asset Published 9/5/13 Last updated on 5/15/18

This resource is a step-by-step walkthrough of how to create an image out of different texts and words. I have used this resource recently with my students and they have created some amazing and creative artworks.

The resource was made for my Year 10 students but could be used with younger students if they have some knowledge of Photoshop and good computer skills. A good demo would also help younger students achieve success with this task.

The steps are easy to follow but some knowledge of Photoshop is necessary as the task is quite complicated.

This step-by-step method of creating an image out of text can be used on any image from portraits to landscapes.

Be creative and have a go at creating images out of words.

It is quite a complex tutorial - I got a little stumped at the end. The instructions are pretty good throughout, but could be clearer. Students would struggle to keep up with this I think. A video tutorial would be nice.
