Introduction to compositing and chroma keying

Lesson Plan Published 11/11/13 Last updated on 5/22/19

Composited videos and chroma keying shots can help students create video projects without needing to be on location. Composited video is the process of combining two or more video images into one, while chroma keying shots is the process of shooting in front of a colored screen and replacing it with a substitute background. Use this activity to teach your students how to create chroma keying shots, composited video, use video keying effects, like masking, and work with nested sequences.
