Title Task

Project Published 1/21/15 Last updated on 6/8/17

This task is designed to assist students in analysing what goes into film, TV, game and webseries titles. It then moves on to brainstorming and then designing titles for their own project.

Works really well with these resources (as well as my previously posted storyboard template):

I am currently starting an intro sequence assignment and the Title task is really helpful in guiding the students! The Art of the Title is a great resource that I give to the students already, but I haven't come across the 'How They Did It' link - it is really interesting and a great resource that I can show to students from L3 - L6! Thanks so much! Really inspiring.

Thanks Katie - that quote from Tarantino about mood always really resonated with me and I feel like it's becoming more and more prevalent... and I feel like we are living in the golden age of titles.

Thanks Bethany,

Glad you like it. I feel like I could teach a whole course of just titles. So under appreciated in terms of their complexity and importance in storytelling.

Did you check out the Art of the Title site? It's an amazing resource - there are heaps of interviews with designers, storyboards, and even breakdowns of the creative (or sometimes technical) process. Near endless in terms of its usefulness.
