Real Life Photography Copyright Court Cases - You be the Judge

Lesson Plan Published 1/20/17 Last updated on 2/28/20

This lesson plan covers fair use and then puts the student in the place of the judge and jury for several real life copyright court cases. Included in the lesson plan are objectives, instruction topics, standards, assessments, and activities. This lesson assumes that students already have a basic knowledge of copyright law and how it relates to photography. With that knowledge, this lesson then focuses on fair use.

Students examine several real life copyright cases and then make their own judgement as far as who was at fault.
