Digital Media & Learning: Video

In this workshop, you’ll explore digital video for learning. Because video conveys a wide range of visual, narrative, and expressive qualities, it can be one of the most powerful tools available for getting your students excited and curious about a topic. When students create their own videos, they invest creative energy in a topic and process important to them. The technical and perceptual skills that students gain from making videos can be a huge asset in their creative, professional, and personal lives.

Prerequisites:
Basic skills with Premiere Pro are advised; if you haven’t used Premiere Pro, please explore the workshop Up and Running with Adobe Premiere Pro, which is also geared toward educators.
Participants will need access to a digital video camera or device that will allow them to download video to edit with Premiere Pro. Using a camera with an external microphone connected is not required, but for those who have this option, an external microphone will increase audio quality significantly.
