This professional learning course will help you develop an understanding for how video can be used as a teaching tool. You will learn how to plan, shoot, edit and publish video with ease, with some quick tips & tricks to create higher quality media. You will learn how to create different kinds of instructional video projects, and how to publish and share your videos. The videos you create will serve as models for you to create or update your curriculum and sample assignments you can bring back to the classroom.


What to Expect

The course kicks off on Monday, May 1 and ends on Friday, June 16. You may work at your own pace through the asynchronous content on the Exchange at any time during the course. 

Live Class 1 takes place at the following date and time: Wednesday, May 3.

We anticipate that successful completion of this course will require a minimum 25 hours of your time. After successfully completing this course, you will receive a digital credential that states that you successfully completed 25 hours of professional development.

Orientation In this section you'll meet your course instructors and find out more about the content and structure.
Class 1 We’ll focus on how to get the most from this course, how to use the course platform and how to participate in the live classes. We’ll begin with some video fundamentals and dive straight into creating a video in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Class 2 Get started editing video while becoming familiar with the Premiere Pro interface. This is Video 101.
Class 3 This week we’ll cover the key skills required to shoot good-quality video, grab the shots you need to tell the story and dive deeper into the core skills of video production.
Class 4 In Week 4 we’ll look closely at the best workflow for editing digital video with Premiere Pro, and we’ll explore ways to evaluate a classroom lesson for digital video integration.
Class 5 This week we aim to bring together everything you’ve learned so far and complete the final video assignment using After Effects.
Achieving Accreditation This section aims to bring together everything you’ve learned so during the course and complete your final assignment. You’ll reflect on your learning in the course and celebrate the work of your peers.
