About this course

Explore the principles of motion graphic design and how to use Adobe creative tools to create impactful motion graphic projects. Then learn how to apply your new digital skills to integrate motion graphics projects into your curriculum.

Creating motion graphics encourages students to express their ideas through an engaging and innovative digital format. Motion graphics can be used effectively in all subject areas, allowing students to improve their communication skills and digital literacy while learning key content objectives.

  • Best practices and principles for creating amazing motion graphics

  • The technical skills to create your own motion graphics with Adobe tools (with support from expert digital media educators)

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at all educators working in primary, secondary or higher education. No prior experience with Adobe tools or digital media technologies is required.

How long is the course?

The course runs for five weeks, starting on November 5th 2018, and should take about 25 hours to complete. All coursework must be submitted by December 21st 2018.

About Adobe Education Exchange Courses

Each week of an Education Exchange collaborative course includes:

  • Design and instructional theory content, innovative and tailored for educators

  • Interactive live class session taught by expert educators and featuring guest industry experts

  • Hands-on creative assignment with personalized feedback from instructors and other educators

  • Reflective learning journal best practice

  • Community collaboration and discussion

Live Class Information

This course will include five live classes, which take place on the following days:

  • Class 1 on Wednesday November 7th, 2018

  • Class 2 on Wednesday November 14th, 2018

  • Class 3 on Wednesday November 21st, 2018

  • Class 4 on Wednesday November 28th, 2018

  • Class 5 on Wednesday December 5th, 2018

Each class will take place three times; once in each of the following time zones:

  • AEDT (Sydney) from 7pm - 8pm

  • GMT (London) from 7pm - 8pm

  • CST (Chicago) from 7pm - 8pm

If you can’t make the live classes for whatever reason, don’t worry - all three iterations of each live class will be recorded and available to view here.

Orientation Meet the tutors and get oriented to the course program. Download the required software and start your learning journey.
Week 1: Introduction to Motion Graphics We’ll begin with design fundamentals and dive straight into creating digital design with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects.
Week 2: Dive deeper into Motion Graphics. Develop your digital skills and apply your learning. Learn core concepts of digital design.
Week 3: Getting to grips with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects and Spark Explore innovative and engaging practices with Adobe’s digital toolset
Week 4: Practice makes perfect Embed your new digital skills by creating digital content ready for curriculum integration.
Week 5: Applying new skills In the final week we’ll discover how to best impact your curriculum with your new skillset.
Achieving Accreditation In this section, we'll wrap up the course, complete the steps and move towards graduation. You’ll reflect on your learning during the course and celebrate the work of your peers.
