About this course

Explore the principles of product design, and how to use Adobe creative tools to create prototypes for new product ideas. Then learn how to apply your new digital skills to integrate digital product design and prototyping projects into your curriculum.

Designing and prototyping digital products encourages students to express their ideas through an engaging, innovative and easily accessible digital format. Digital product design and prototyping projects can be used effectively in all subject areas, allowing students to improve their communication skills and digital literacy while learning key content objectives.

  • How using digital product design and prototyping projects in your curriculum can produce positive outcomes for you and your students

  • Best practices and principles for creating amazing digital product designs and prototypes

  • The technical skills to create your own digital product design and prototyping projects with Adobe tools (with support from expert digital media educators)

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at all educators working in primary, secondary or higher education. No prior experience with Adobe tools or digital media technologies is required.

How long is the course?

The course runs for two weeks, starting on 16th April 2018, and should take about 10 hours to complete. All coursework must be submitted by 11th May 2018.

Live Class Information

This course will include weekly live classes, which take place on Tuesdays.

Each class will take place three times; once in each of the following time zones:

  • AEDT (Sydney) at 7pm

  • GMT (London) at 7pm

  • CST (Chicago) at 7pm

Class 1: Introduction to Product Design and Prototyping We’ll begin with some design fundamentals and dive straight into creating digital product design and prototyping projects with Adobe XD.
Class 2: Dive Deeper into Product Design and Prototyping Going beyond the basics with digital product design and prototyping. You’ll explore a design and prototyping project for use in your own curriculum and further develop your digital skills.
Achieving Accreditation In this section, we'll wrap up the course, complete the steps and move towards graduation. You’ll reflect on your learning during the course and celebrate the work of your peers.
