Interactive Design: Foundations of Animation and Interaction Design

Visual Design CC

Interactive Design is a project-based curriculum that develops key digital communication skills such as design, project management, research and communication, and animation, game design, and interaction design technical skills using Adobe tools.

Interactive Design can be used in interactive design education or in more general career and technical education. Each project builds on lessons learned previously and contains an instructor guide (with learning objectives, step-by-step teaching instructions, assessment rubric, and details on alignment to the Adobe Certified Associate exams) and a series of activities to teach students. Activities include student technical guides, worksheets, and best practice guides. Utilize the entire curriculum, individual projects, or individual activities to adapt this content to your course.

Project 2: Game design & planning

In this project, students, working in teams, begin to plan and design a simple interactive game for a client. Teams create game planning documents and designs.

Project 3: Building a Flash game

In this project, student teams follow their game design documents to complete the technical build of the client game. Students learn technical skills in Flash Professional to build and code the game.

Project 4: Portfolios

In this project, students create a portfolio of their work and explore career opportunities in the interactive media design fields.
