Hi Adrienne -

I'm getting ready to begin my students on your Emulation Project and I see that you have 2 video tutorials listed in the curriculum, but no links. Could you please share those links?

I'm in the process of re-doing a bunch of links to compile student spark pages together. Can you email me at anix@leyden212.org? I can share the shared file from my students with links to a few of the spark pages that were created. There is one good spark tutorial example on Behance too. https://www.behance.net/gallery/64309265/Graphic-Design-2-Student-Examples

I just added a link to some more Spark pages for you to check out in the curriculum.

Wow. The Graphic Design 2 Project Examples are great. If that's your students' work, you're doing a great job. Keep it up!

Hello!

To everyone that has requested more information or resources, please check out the UPDATED GD2 Curriculum link in the resources or access it here.

I have been working hard to create a more accurate depiction of what I do over the course of the semester and here it is! I'm also trying to create a one stop shop with presentations, lesson plans, student examples, video tutorials, self evaluations and grading rubrics. I am still in the process of attaching and linking everything in this document but feel free to start accessing the resources and don't hesitate to contact me if a link doesn't work or you need further clarification. This document is getting frequently updated but should be pretty complete by the beginning of 2020 so check back often for updates! Thanks for your interest!

Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us! This is my first year teaching Graphic Design 2 and I have struggled to find advanced projects for my class. Would you mind sharing what you use for step by step instructions in the figure composition project? Do they find the images they use online?

Hi Elmi!

I'm so glad my post could be of assistance! I'm actually in the process of updating my entire curriculum with better resources, video tutorials, lesson plans, student evaluations and rubrics. Check out this link for the most up to date curriculum (and I'm working on it daily so check bookmark the link!) . The images the students found online mostly come from PEXELS.

Lesson plans seem very loose, was wondering how this lesson fits into standards bases education, and SLO lessons. Do students know how and why they are creating, and what tools they are learning?

Adrianne Nix

Yes, this particular curriculum is from 2009 and I am in the process of updating it and posting the new version that includes more current projects, written in a more formal way. I'm just trying to do 3 curriculums at once so it's taking longer than I expected!

Very nice curriculum but only 42 week to cover may be need rethinking the time use for all topics, and based on a new technology and the social tools, redefine a little this curriculum.

Adrianne Nix

Posted on 5/22/18 4:14:28 PM Permalink

Actually it's only 18 weeks! Remember that this is high school too so they get an hour a day to work and extra time after school or at home if they'd like.
