Learning goals:

Students are presented with sketches from other designers so they can learn about the concept development of designing a logo.

The process of developing a concept - Ask if they can see the elements of design: Line, Form, Shape

Critical thinking and establishing design criteria - Hands on Activity (critical thinking) Students are on the tables

The six thinking hats

Each student receives a hat and critiques the logo according to their hat

Learn the type tool and outlines

Graphical processes

Create a negative and positive space

Un-group shapes

    Editing and compositing for photos, web and mobile app designs, 3D artwork, videos, and more.

    Create beautiful vector art and illustrations.

I first introduced the students with some anime and how they could re-create their favorite character by using illustrator. I showed them some examples of the previous student work.

Tracing in illustrator is a quick way to get students excited about their work being digitilized and ready to print.
