Practical Photography Guide

Presentation Published 7/1/19 Last updated on 2/28/20

This is a simple introduction to better photography for beginners. It mainly contains tips for taking better photos under various conditions but also includes some technical information.

I created this guide and used it to teach people about photography when I was part of the expedition team during numerous trips to Antarctica. The examples in the guide feature Antarctic wildlife and scenery but the knowledge and techniques can be applied to all photography practices.

  • Photoshop

Editing and compositing for photos, web and mobile app designs, 3D artwork, videos, and more.

  • InDesign

Craft elegant layouts at your desk or on the go.

1-2 Hours
ISTE Standards
Students: Innovative Designer, Students: Computational Trainer, Students: Knowledge Constructor

It's ideal to have your own camera to practice the photography techniques.
