Author and Digital Arts Teacher
Mount Si High School, United States
Joe Dockery teaches the digital arts courses at Mount Si High School in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, Washington. He has been an Adobe Education Leader for over a decade and a trainer at the Adobe booth at educational technology conferences around the United States.
Joe weaves real world projects into his classroom through partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to ensure his students receive authentic learning experiences. He is currently exploring the new desktop fabrication tools such as laser engravers and 3D printers that allow students in his class to turn their digital designs into real products. This blend of service learning and entrepreneurialism is what energizes Joe. Watch Joe's recent Creativity Workshop here.
Joe is a subject matter expert who has worked with Certiport to develop the Adobe Certified Associate exams. He has used this experience to author the LEARN series books on Premiere Pro and After Effects for Peachpit Press and produced similar courses for ACATestPrep.com.
Five years ago, Joe founded the Puget Sound All Girls Film Challenge and Networking Event. His goal is to give young women filmmakers in the Puget Sound area the opportunity to create films that showcase their perspective, juried by experienced women filmmakers and screened at high profile, high quality events that help to connect his students with women in the media industry.
