YouTube University

I have spent years using YouTube as an educational resource, in fact it was my ability to use YouTube as a learning source that landed me my first Digital Media teaching job. The teacher I was replacing seemed to like my comment when I told him that if I didn't know the software I could learn it in a few weeks using YouTube and I could teach my students to do the same.

Since then, I have used YouTube as a direct learning/teaching source. My plan is to some day give back to the community and begin creating tutorials but for now I just wanted to hear about others YouTube University experiences.

When you say 'YouTube University' what are you referring to?

I love YouTube. My own experience creating content opened up an opportunity for me to teach a YouTube Video Production class this year as a high school elective. It's been a ton of fun and surprising how cool some of the students' first videos have come out. I ended up creating a second channel for my students called Thom Teaches YouTube which is sort of like what you're talked about; mainly tutorials for my own students but of course anyone could utilize them.
