Best Community Project Ideas for Advanced Graphic Designers

I currently have my senior graphic designers create a children's book in Illustrator and InDesign with the target audience being local 2nd graders. I am looking to create a meaningful high level project for these advanced graphic designers (I have them for 4 years in a high school conservatory) that goes beyond the local setting and create a project that can impact students and people on a larger, possible global community scale, any ideas? Project ideas?

In my opinion, when it comes to children's books, the challenge is greatest when an illustration has to be made in children's books, for children's books that the children really understand.
