Digital Arts Competitions

Art teacher question— Not all art competitions embrace the digital arts, so what are some good digital arts competitions for middle and high school level students? I would love to hear about everything that’s out there, although Illustrator and Photoshop will probably be the most used by our students.

  • Photoshop

Editing and compositing for photos, web and mobile app designs, 3D artwork, videos, and more.

  • Illustrator

Create beautiful vector art and illustrations.

Hello Sara,

If you're in the US, there is the annual Congressional Art Competition held annually in the spring. You'll need to contact your local Representative for submission dates next year. You might also work with your local art galleries or museum to provide a venue in competition across your local high schools or middle schools. Often, your downtown "First Friday" or city administrators will support you in having a show. For your digital art students, check out ACA World Championship or Adobe Design Achievement Awards. Here is the link to the Congressional Art Competition.
