Having the ability to decipher and deal with abstract problems is definetly one of the more important aspects of visual literacy. Our means of communication has also changed over the last decade to a visual based communication. It is an important part of learning that students are able to communicate visually so that they can be active and critical in their evaluation of this media.

I am currently writing a paper on how visual literacy is used within the whole school and how art within subjects can help raise skills and understanding in key areas. i would be really interested in any responses you receive
