Creative Cloud CC vs Creative Cloud CC 2014

Hi! I'm one of those lucky educators who gets to teach my high school students on Creative Cloud. I'm in the process of updating all of my student's computers and accounts and don't understand why both the CC and CC 2014 options are available. Do I need both? What is the difference?

  • Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Dreamweaver

  • Photoshop

  • Animate

Design interactive vector animations for multiple platforms.

  • Illustrator

Create beautiful vector art and illustrations.

  • InDesign

Craft elegant layouts at your desk or on the go.

Yup CC 2014 is the latest version of Creative Cloud. If you are just now installing the software then it is safe to say the students will not lose anything...install CC2014.

With each new update, features are added as well as removed.

If you use something in one of the CC programs which has been removed from CC2014 then you would need to keep both.

Otherwise, there is no reason to have them both.

CC is the previous version of CC 2014. The CC 2014 version is the latest. If you want to use the last versions, use CC 2014. If you need the previous versions, use CC only. You do not need both.
