Best control surface for video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro?

I'm hoping other members could suggest great current video control surfaces that they are using in conjunction with Adobe Premiere for video editing.  There are quite a few choices out there.

I'm also interested in what folks might be using in Lightroom, or Photoshop in the way of control surfaces. Has anyone tried Palette Gear? Is the lack of motorized faders a deal-breaker? I would like to set up my students with the most efficient hardware, and would appreciate any and all suggestions. It would be great if Adobe could endorse or create a multi-purpose surface controller of some kind.

I'd be interested in and appreciative of such advice as well.
