Enhancing the Accounting classroom interactivity with Adobe Presenter and the UNESCO's ICT-CFT

Posted on Dec 10, 2014 by Damien Soukhavong Last Activity on Dec 10, 2014

This is a Professional Development session I made for the Adobe Education Train the Trainer 2014. It focuses on Adobe Presenter and its usages in an Accounting classroom, while getting in touch with the UNESCO Information and Communication Technology Competency Framework for Teachers. If you happened to teach business or highly strict degrees (Accounting, Law...), you probably hit the wall at least once with your students, with a complete lack of interactivity. Having a solution to this issue is fundamental, in order to promote a positive learning environment, and getting ahead for the learners to learn successfully. There are three supporting documentations: The Adobe Presenter 10 official help fileThe official ICT-CFT paper from the UNESCO (free to download and reuse)My personal documentation about this course and its content (mostly focuses on what is behind what you can do, based on my personal experience of teaching/training in France) I hope you will enjoy the to read the content.

Blood Vessel Anatomy

Posted on Jun 5, 2014 by Eliot Attridge Last Activity on Jul 26, 2014

This is a short (around 4 min) video about blood vessels. It goes into more detail than may be required (e.g. arterioles and venules) but it would help extend the most able. This gets them used to the names of the different layers and also the idea that arteries and veins can have different sizes. It appears to have been created using Adobe Presenter (correct me if I am wrong), which means that the slides come with a video of the presenter- which, due to his actions, does actually enhance the images. Seeing a video like this makes me more interested in Presenter as a product (although, as a Mac user I will just have to stick to using Captivate).

Traditional Myths: Are They Still Relevant?

Posted on Apr 28, 2014 by George Botelho Last Activity on Apr 28, 2014

This project was based on work that I did with my upper-secondary English students in Papua New Guinea. The idea concerns the transition from traditional values held over a long period of time, to a modern world where many of the "old ways" are being lost in the race toward development and renewed self-identification. While the context for this project is Papua New Guinea as a developing country, the basic ideas in the traditional-to-modern framework could be adapted to a variety of contexts. Examples might include religion, how we entertain ourselves, free time, etc. The basic ideas of what cultures "value" may change drastically over generations. It is also useful to focus on where these values come from, and how they may have been compromised, adapted or replaced, to meet changes in society.

deviantART

Posted on Apr 27, 2014 by George Botelho Last Activity on Apr 27, 2014

http://edex.adobe.com/resource/3f-d026d/ I found this link to deviantART and the website is http://www.deviantart.com/ Their logo is "Where ART Meets Application" I do not use this site much, although my students try to encourage me to share my photos on it. For classroom work, it is a great resource because students can see and critique each others' work. In English class, it provides an opportunity to engage in speaking and general communication activities. Many of the students already are very good at post-processing their images, and creating real art from a simple photograph. I envy them for their abilities.
