Creating Links with Primary Schools via Adobe Premiere Pro

These 3 videos are the product of a transition program I implemented at my high school. The project taught 60 primary school students a week for 4 weeks how to use Premiere Pro CC. To run the project we used a bunch of High School students with some skills in Premiere. The project was a massive success.

Investigating food products

9-10year old students from Australia worked on a project about healthy eating and advertising. Students utilised the adobe software  'Photoshop' to create their own advertisement to target an audience that will buy what they are selling!

Adobe Voice Planning Sheet

I find it useful in my class - since we have limited iPads - to have the students pre-plan their Stories. To this end, I created a planning sheet, that can be printed as many times as needed. The sheet contains space to plan two slides. Each plan for a slide includes space for: Notes (on what pictures/icons/captions are needed)Layout choiceScript for narrationRough sketch of the slide I find once the students have all this worked out, then the time needed to spend on the iPad is minimal and I can share it around to other students. I hope others find this useful.

I’m constantly seeking ways for my students to use their computer literacy skills that will incorporate other subjects too. Responding to literature, science math or history are definitely ways to integrate core curriculum into my lessons. Digital Story Telling Project

Students will use Digital Images or Photos they take to come up with a story idea. From there they will get into groups and using brainstorming, creative thought and visualizing they will create the beginning to their own stories. Students will each use a computer or laptop and after a period of time rotate. Students will rotate and add to their neighbors story in their group. After 3 to 4 rotations, the students will place an ending onto their story and begin to find or illustrate images to add to their story, bringing it to life. Students will use Adobe products to illustrate, sketch images and to finalize their stories. Students will end by producing a Digital Story using Adobe Voice.

Self Grading Quiz

I was asked by a number of members to share an example of one of my self grading interactive PDFs. So here is very basic version that you can modify for your own use.  I included a blank template that is secured with the exceptions being the ability to fill in fields and make comments. I set it up this way so the student can't reformat the quiz. I use to use MS Word but without fail I would quizzes back where the student would delete all the questions and just give me answers (sometimes I would just a single paragraph for a 20 question quiz!) or change the typefaces, etc.  To enter your own questions into this template go to properties and use the password  EDEX1 and then edit text under the tools option. I also included a graded example of the template and here you can see the text fields that the student uses to reply to a question are scrollable so if they need more room it does not reformat the whole quiz. Creating a New Classic Work of Art Project

Have the students choose a classic painting they would like to manipulate and have them add, remove, and distort items to make it represent a book they just read, an historical place, or anything that is relevant to the class. Maybe it should represent them or convey a message of some sort. You can make it fit almost any content being learned. After they have created their image, have them share it with the class and explain it’s meaning. Having and creating the graphic representation will also help them retain what they learned better than they would without it.
