Doireann O'Connor is a lecturer in Early Childhood Care and Education at The Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ireland. She has produced an Anthology of Traditional Irish Games, Songs and Rhymes as well as book chapters and journal articles on topics such as School Readiness and Education Policy. Doireann is a founding member of PLÉ-- The Network of Early Childhood Care and Education Degree Courses in Ireland. Doireann spent 10 years working within the field of Early Childhood Care and Education, holding a number of key positions within Policy and Practice.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. ESL Literary Development App - Lesson Plan

I really got into this lesson plan for the ESL Literary Development App.  Using the Spinner code as the basis for the app and the lesson plan is more about using the app as a tool to help ESL students.  This exercise helped me explore Mobile learning development and since cell phones are widely used Students get choice while developing English skills in: ·  Conversation, Speaking English in Discussion ·  Comprehension through reading ·  Introduction to Idioms ·  Writing: Short Book Summaries, Discussion Briefs ·  Research: Book Author Bios (via internet) write short bio. Also the activity will serve a dual purpose of testing the usability of the app.
