Description

This presentation covers the fundamentals of developing a mobile app using Dreamweaver CS6 and PhoneGap Build. Checkpoint files are provided for those who need them.

The following checkpoint files are provided for those who wish to compare their reuslts with mine. As with any files you download from the Internet - virus check them and use them with caution. I do not recommend installing this sample app on an Android phone you use daily. I strongly recommend using these files in the appropriate emulator.

@Michael - you might need to update your Adobe Acrobat Reader software to the latest version. Go to http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-READER. If you also have Acrobat Professional on your computer, the version may be too old to view the embedded video content so you may need to change the default viewer of PDFs to utilize Acrobat Reader X (after installing the latest Reader).

@Kris - Be sure to extract the "Initial jQuery Mobile files" to a folder on your computer before viewing the index.html file. The index file is not able to locate the other necessary files to render the jQuery mobile layout when it's still inside the zip folder. These are the files first created by Dreamweaver CS6 when starting a Mobile Starter project and the mobile layout will look like this when rendered in a web browser:

I too am having trouble with opening the files.

Initial jQuery Mobile files opens to what appears to be nothing...

The other files do nothing.

My name is Michael A. Lewis and I'm a graphic design instructor at Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. We're a small two year college offering associate degrees in technology driven fields of study. I'm always looking for new and interesting projects to challenge my students and elevate their creativity. I like the sound of this project and would love to implement it into one of my classes for the summer. However, I can't seem to get your two documents to open with the initial overview and creating the actual app to open in Acrobat 8 Professional. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could send me those files in Acrobat 8 or a lesser version. Thanks, in advance, for your sharing. My email address is michael.lewis@tstc.edu.
