Description

Zoo Connect delivers a science lesson remotely from Taronga Zoo in Sydney Australia to a junior secondary school class using Adobe Connect. The lesson covered classification systems for living things. The group using Adobe Connect learned significantly more than the group in the regular classroom in a pretest-posttest control group comparison. Students engaged enthusiastically with the zoo instructor and animals via webcam.

The purpose of the Zoo Connect lesson was to:
*extend the 'excursion experience' with access to zoo education officers delivering additional content material
*determine the suitability of Adobe Connect to deliver content to remote locations
*assess how Adobe Connect can enhance student learning
*investigate the impact of the software on teaching practice and pedagogy.
