Description

This is a worked example of how to locate the epicenter of an earthquake. This is a skill that students taking Earth Science in New York State are required to be able to perform.

This skill is tested in the Earth Science Lab Practical as well as the written Regent's exam.

A computer that has internet access.  However, this demo is used to introduce a lab in which the students will work with all the materials they see.  A compass, a P and S wave chart, a few seismographs, and a map of the U.S.
